Genie Retail Energy joins Retail Energy Advancement League
Genie Retail Energy, the retail energy provider business of Genie Energy Ltd., (NYSE: GNE) has joined the Retail Energy Advancement League (REAL), a national advocacy organization dedicated to the modernization of retail energy markets and consumer choice. Genie Energy CEO Michael Stein has also joined the REAL Board of Directors.
“We could not be happier to have Genie Retail Energy join us in working to bring electric choice to all consumers and help grow competitive retail markets,” REAL President and CEO Chris Ercoli said. “Our members share the belief that consumers should have control over their energy decisions, that smart regulations and consumer protections allow a healthy market to flourish, and that customer demand will drive our country’s transition to a clean energy economy.”
The REAL Board of Directors, which formed last year, welcomed Genie Energy’s CEO Michael Stein as its newest member. Genie Energy is a domestic retail energy provider of green and conventional electricity and natural gas and of on-site and community solar energy solutions, with a focus on competitive markets across the United States.
Stein has served as CEO of Genie Energy since 2017 and of Genie Retail Energy since 2015.
“As a leading domestic retail energy provider, Genie Retail Energy is proud to join REAL in its efforts to promote the expansion and modernization of retail energy markets,” Stein said. “Consumers deserve the freedom to control their energy supply in order to achieve their energy goals. REAL is helping consumers across the country to obtain energy choice.”
